Terror in Mombasa....could this be a religous war????

A group of armed criminals stormed a church in Likoni Mombasa today and opened fire on the worshippers. This act happens days after heavy explosives that could bring down a fourteen storey building were discovered being ferried to an unknown destination. The bombs were detonated creating a crater.
After this incident the govt assured Kenyans that security has been tightened in all parts of Mombasa county. The attack on innocent worshippers raises questions on whether kenyans are fighting themselves, are our borders secure or are we fighting a religous war????
Kenyans lets be vigilant !!!!

Causes and Prevention of Kidney Failures in Children, and what parents needs to do.....

This publication looks at the causes and the prevention measures of kidney failures in children and what parents should learn from it so as to protect their children from the disease. Research has shown that there are various possible causes of kidney failures in children, among them being: Birth defects whereby they happen when the baby is developing in the womb.

The birth defects include renal agenesis, renal dysplasia and ectopic kidney. The abnormalities can manifest themselves in various forms e.g. abnormalities in size, structure or even lead to varying position of the kidneys.

The kidney failure could also be as a result of hereditary disease where the kidney diseases are passed from the parent to the child. The most common kind is polycystic kidney disease (PKD that is characterized by many cysts which later take over and later destroy the working kidney tissue.

Infection is also another potential cause of kidney failures. An example is Hemolytic uremic syndrome which is mainly caused by a harmful bacteria found in infected meals e.g. meat and dairy products. Systemic disease is also another cause of infections, here, diseases e.g. diabetes may involve organs in the whole body of which the kidney may be part.

Having considered all the above potential causes of the kidney failures, it is important to put in place appropriate prevention measures which include the following:
1. Parents should always ensure that they serve their children with a balanced diet.
2. The parents should also visit their nutritionist before they embark on making any diet change.
3. The diet they serve their children should contain elements of nutrients such as: protein, sodium, phosphorous and also plenty of fluids.

Starehe Boys Center Head teacher Suspended for failure to deliver results

After Starehe Boys Center was ranked number 17 nationally a position they have never held in Griffins History, the board of members have made a decision to send away the Head teacher Paul Mugo. The school needs a change in top management in a bid to reclaim its lost top position.

The question is, has the school board of management made the right decision? what has been going on in the school that we are not being told?

Mysterious disappearance of Malaysian Airline search enters day five: Phone calls going through what is happening???

Mystery still surrounds the missing Malaysian airline 4 days later. The people on board had their cellphones, their family members ave proven beyond doubt that they have made phone calls to them with no response. Messages as well go through but no response from the other end.

Family members are worried on what could have happen to them since no one knows where the plane is after it disappearance and losing track and communication with the ground control tower. Its something never seen or heard across the world for a plane to disappear in the space without trace by the satellites.

The family members of the people on board are highly frustrated due to lack of information from their relatives. China has dedicated a number of their satellites to be used in tracing the plane but with no success now.

One wonders why does the phone calls and messages go through but no response from their end. Four days later, their cellphones are still on? This is a strange thing really to have ever been experienced.

Experts say that hearing a ringtone does not mean the phone is on, the phone could be damaged yes, but since they are wireless, and the type of the phones are phantom, and that its possible that they were on airplane mode, means they could go through despite being technically disconnected or damaged.

Urgently needed

Your child having nightmares? Be warned!!! Must read it......

Researchers from the United Kingdom have linked childhood nightmares to psychotic disorders later on in life. The children under the study were aged between one to twelve years. The researchers followed the children until they were 12 years old where they were then diagnosed for various psychotic disorders.

It was discovered that children who thrash their feet and scream while having night terrors are at a higher risk of developing psychotic disorders. Then the parents were asked about the frequency of nightmares, they claimed that the children had subsequent nightmares for many years. This amounted to 37% of children having nightmares who later on developed psychotic disorders.

The warning light begins when the child has subsequent night terrors that are persistent. One of the researchers and a Professor reported that night terrors can provide an early warning to serious psychotic problems like hallucinations; anxiety, delusions and thinking their thoughts are being controlled.

The researchers recommend early diagnostic procedures for children who show symptoms of serious nightmares. Parents can also wake the child briefly when they are having  a nightmare and calm them down before letting them go back to sleep.

See the resolutions made in Bomas of Kenya by the Governors and MCAs on 7th March 2014

Resolutions: Governors and MCAs pour out their hearts on Devolution and all they want done now...Meeting took place at Bomas of Kenya.

Today, all the governors, their deputies elected in Kenya to head county governments are having a meeting with all the MCAs and speakers as one family. They have launched a devolution month based on their election to their offices. They are the result of devolution, and in the forefront in attaining highest deliverable standards at their levels.

The chairman of Governors Council Isaac Rutto, has again said he supports Machakos Govonor Mutua who said Devolution now or revolution. They want their titles to be the Excellencies, and honorable members. This has been reflected in their speeches.

Isaak Rutto noted that all MCAs must be given car grants and even mileage allowances just like the members of parliament. He said, "Some animals are more equal than other, ni kama shamba la wanyama, others must sleep on the bed while others on the floor."

In the charged meeting, resolutions were made to protect devolution as indicated in the constitution and that a referendum will be done to increase more funds to the counties.

Here are the resolutions they all unanimously agreed to undertake:

1. All leadership at the county level must in unity oversee the future and success of devolution.
2. Devolution does not belong to the Governors, Deputy Governors, MCAs and the Speakers. These are merely facilitators. Devolution belongs to the people of Kenya.
3. The MCAs must be facilitated by the national government for car grants and seed money for mortgages as Members of the National Assembly are being facilitated.
4. If the National Assembly will keep the CDF and other devolved funds, the County Governments must also initiate the Ward Development Funds.
5. All the funds coming to the county, CDF, Uwezo, Roads money, REA money, HIV Aids funds etc , must all be put into one pot.
6. We shall initiate open dialogue of leaders in the county for the sake of development of our counties.
7. Leaders at the county levels want to be held accountable as per the provisions of the Constitution.
8. Counties WILL undertake civic education to the village level on devolution and referendum.
9. There will be unity of the devolution family.
10. A committee will be formed to spearhead and protect devolution – made up of deputy governors, speakers, leaders of the County Assemblies.
11. To achieve the Kenyan dream, the county governments will intensify development projects.
12. Counties Governments will call for a referendum to increase county allocations from the current levels to 45% to take place within a year.
13. The true family of devolution which is the founding fathers and mothers of devolution represented here today will remain focused on devolution and remain united.
14. County Governments should get revenue from the audited accounts of the current financial year.
15. We shall participate fully in the coming annual devolution conference and the county build up meetings.
16. This County Governments Forum shall be held bi-annually.

Matatu strike in Nairobi city affect means of transport

Matatu strike in Nairobi has affected many Nairobians. People from all parts in Nairobi were today 5th March 2014 forced to walk to their respective destinations due to the strike. The matatu operators blocked all the major roads entering town as they stage a demonstration due to increase of parking fees by Nairobi county government on all public service vehicles. The taxis were not left out as well, they have all participated in the strike.

The Inspector General of Police David Kimaiyo has issued a directive for all the matatus that have blocked the roads been stripped off their number plates. Mr Kimaiyo is facing the heat since movement in Nairobi has been affected. This is of high risk and threat to Kenyan Economy since most people today didn't go to work or reach work but cannot work as usual for fear of transport back to their residential places.

The County government of Nairobi has indicated that no negotiations will be done until the strike is called off. Nairobi residents are now in a serious problem on how they will commute. At the moment all the matatu owners and their employees have staged a protest to Governor Kidero's office.

Why Teacher Wanjiku's show did not air on Citizen TV

Teacher Wanjiku
Teacher Wanjiku's exit from Churchill show received mixed reactions from Kenyans. Everyone was eager to know what the Comedy Queen would do next. The news that she would have her own show airing on Kenya's leading TV station,Citizen TV was highly anticipated.

It seemed that her exit from Churchill show was a good move after all.  However, as we reported in our earlier article, her show received mixed reaction from Kenyans on social media. Kenyans out-lashed at her show saying it flopped greatly.
Citizen TV took the reactions seriously, and the show did not air last Friday.

The show has to earn its time slot on the channel after producers make major changes that may see it back on air. However, the management says that there are many things that need to be worked on before it can go back on air. Lets wait and see if she will return to the screen any time soon.

I am left wondering if this is part of entertainment given to the VIPs leaving Nigeria by the VIP security Detail. Its so wow.....but then is this guy really in control of the motorbike?

Its moving, indeed it moving. This guy must be a professional, otherwise this is a threat to the security of the VIP escorted. He was among those escorting Kenya's Deputy President to Abuja Airport.

What is your take on this, just one word.

Here are the photos of Kenya's Deputy President William Samoe Ruto Leaving Nigeria

The Deputy President William Samoe Ruto was in Nigeria attending a centenary celebrations where he spoke with a Pan African voice. Read more on this if you missed our earlier copy http://buzzyupdates.blogspot.com/2014/03/deputy-president-william-ruto-true.html

The Kenyan First Daughter, Miss Ngina Kenyatta Attends Parties Keeping a Low Profile

Being a first family, there are many things expected. You do not miss anything, and you can do what you want or have what you want at anytime. The only restriction has always been the security detail that may hinder you from having them or doing them. The main thing in a first family that have to always be done is their safety. Attending parties and functions needs to be highly guarded. Heavy security is the order of their life, that happens all over the world.

Here in Kenya, we have seen on a number of occasions the First Daughter, Miss Ngina Kenyatta attending parties in a low profile. She loves parties, she loves socialization, and that seems to have been noted by the first family. She has been given the same opportunity without any hindrance by virtue of being from the first family.

In the past, she has attended TPF unctions where she interacted with people freely. The most recent one is the Safaricom International Jazz where she was dropped by a range rover with her friends to attend the function. She kept her profile low throughout the event without raising eyebrows as to who she was. She, however bought drinks to people who were in the the VIP lounge.

People were left gazing when she was leaving while waving at them goodbye after the event. The same range rover that dropped her came and picked her and her friends. Her Humility is beyond reproach of high profile people like her.

Ukraine Crisis Felt in Kenya by Freelancers: Its now deepening with the current Russian Approval of Military force

The crisis in Ukraine has been felt in Kenya. This is as a result of banks closure in Ukraine hence unable to transfer payments to a number of Kenyans who are freelancers. Ukraine is a country that has continuously relied on Kenyans to deliver them online jobs for their clients in various sectors across the world.

With the approval of the use of military force in Ukraine by Russian House deepens the crisis hence more effects are expected.

Most of these companies are those agents who take or receive requests for temporal/permanent employees to tackle various assignments, tasks and projects among others. These agent companies have a hub of employees in Kenya.

In the recent few years, Kenya has experienced increase direct foreign remittance which among them includes such payouts. This business has been growing given that most Kenyans, who are students, or otherwise self employed, while others work and still manage to handle this job as well, also want to sustain the high standards of living besides improving their even growing needs.

Here are the messages from one of the agent companies.

"Dear Valued employees,

Unfortunately, due to the current situation in the country, there will be some delay with salary pay out. The delay is caused by the PrivatBank policy. We are sorry for the incovenience and want to assure you that we are doing everything possible to speed up the process. Your salaries will be paid out as soon as possible. We will keep you updated on the progress.

Good news!

The payout has already started!
Since the exchange rate keeps changing, we have to fix it at today's Privatbank rate USD1=UAH 9.5"
as posted to all its employees in their website...

Deputy President William Ruto a true African Hero….He receives a standing ovation after his speech in Nigeria.

The Deputy President of the republic of Kenya on 27th was in Nigeria to attend the centenary celebrations where he delivered a thrilling speech on the need for African nations to be united in an effort to fight the dark past.

He acknowledged the fact that Nigeria is facing different challenges which include threats from terrorists but he urged them to continue standing together and work together with their neighbors so as to defeat such coward acts.

“What you have done – everything you have achieved, was possible only because of your Union, and your Unity. A divided Nigeria would not be a continental leader. A squabbling Nigeria could not possibly be a leader. A Nigeria torn asunder cannot stand tall and walk proud. Neither can it command respect in the community of Nations”, says Ruto.

He pledged that all African leaders should work together to change the view of Africa. After his speech he received a standing ovation from the entire audience.  Kenyans lets support our leaders as they endeavor to change Kenya and Africa as a whole.
